\nEtang des Caillats is situated on the same complex as Lac Tournizet in the heart of the Champagne region near the city of Vitry le Francois near the beautiful city of Vitry-le-Francois. In this city you will find all the shops, supermarkets and retaurants you need. You can also find a couple of hotels.<\/p>\n

The lake has become very popular since we started working together with the owner, Dominique Couvez. The amount of anglers that return yearly proves this lake is something special. It is the ultimate destination for anglers who are looking for a lake to fish a socail session.<\/p>\n

This water has built up a great reputation among returning fishermen in the last few years. The lake with its beautiful irregular shape and two peninsulas is ideal for fishing with a group. In the autumn of 2023, the owner made a dam between both swims. He did this to prevent the entire stock from being on one side of the lake, while there are no fish to catch on the other side. This has happened several times in the past. In fact, Etang des Caillats now consists of two separate lakes, both have their own stock.<\/p>\n

Vosges<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vosges offers room for 3 anglers with a log cabin on site with electricity, a dining table and a fridge-freezer combination! This section contains a completely stock of 110 carp up to 20kg, plus perhaps a few surprises that were not seduced during the netting. We have to rebuild the stock and give the fish time to grow. If you and your buddies just want to spend a week fishing from a peninsula with a cabin at your back, then Vosges is a great place for you. We offer a serious discount for bookings in 2025!<\/p>\n

Alsace<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are arround 120 carp up to 72b in the lake. There are no catfish or sturgeon and not a lot of silverfish because of the pike that are in the lake. Depending on the season there can be weed in the lake. Because of that we advice you to bring a boat  so you can drill the fish from the boat if necessary. It is possible to rent a rowning boat.<\/p>\n

  • On each of the swims there is a cabin with electricity (European sockets!), a fridge\/freezer combi and a table with two benches.  
    \nIt may be that Dominique is not present at the moment of arrival. Just drive to your swim and start fishing. No problem. The owner is not present at the complex all day long. He assumes that his guests know the rules and don’t break them.
    \nDo not assume  that Dominique will provide you with the latest tips. He is primarily the host and loves to receive guests on his lakes, but he is not a gifted carp angler! Fortunately, on our website you can get enough info for a successful week, or ask us directly. We have fished the lake several times.
    \nYou can order bread from Dominique. He will deliver them to your swim in the morning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>

    Rules<\/h2>\n

    • Arrival on Saturday from 14:00, departure no later than 10:00 the following Saturday .
      \nPlease don’t arrive before 14:00! The group before you have exclusive use of the entire complex till Saturday 10:00. (Most of you wouldn’t like it either if next weeks group turns up early.) Give the owner the time to get ready for your arrival.<\/strong><\/li>\n

      Help us prevent problems! <\/div>\n
      For Etang des Caillats from this season onwards, items such as landing nets, weighing bags, unhooking mats, cradles, waders and wading boots must first be dipped in the container with a disinfectant before going to your swim.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
    • Up to three rods per person.<\/li>\n
    • (Well prepared) particles are allowed.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • The use of  tigernuts, and and all other nuts are prohibited.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Only use the best quality boilies available to you. We still prefer freezer baits.<\/li>\n
    • No plastic baits. There are great pop-ups shaped as corn on the market<\/li>\n
    • Keep bags are prohibited.<\/li>\n
    • The hook wound should be treated with Klinic or a simular product.<\/li>\n
    • Only barbless hooks allowed, no circle- or long shank hooks<\/li>\n
    • No fixed leads. Only safety-rigs utilising a proper lead discharge system should be used<\/li>\n
    • Use of leadcore and leaders (of any kind) is prohibited.<\/li>\n
    • Landing net of at least 42 “is required. You must dip it on arrival.<\/li>\n
    • Bring your own unhooking mat and weigh sling. Size and quality fitting the size of our carp.<\/li>\n
    • Bait boats are allowed.<\/li>\n
    • Rods may not be left unattended.<\/li>\n
    • Main line must be at least 15 lbs.<\/li>\n
    • Open fires and barbecues are prohibited.<\/li>\n
    • Waste (separated) into the appropriate bins (including cigarette butts). Please read the intructions on site and act accordingly. The owner can get fined up to \u20ac 4000,- for not separating the waste according the law!)<\/strong><\/li>\n
