Lac Tournizet is situated on the same complex as Etang des Caillats in the heart of the Champagne region near the city of Vitry le Francois. In this city you will find all the shops, supermarkets and retaurants you need. You can also find a couple of hotels.
Lac Tournizet proves to be more of a runs water then Caillats, but there are also plenty of 30’s, 40’s and a couple of 50’s and a 60+ in the lake. We estimate that there are arround 160 carp in the lake. You can eather book the southern ord northern half of the lake or book the lake exclusively. On each of the sides there is a cabin with electricity (European sockets!), a fridge/freezer combi and a table with two benches.
Largest fish we know of at the moment is 64lb. There is one catfish and not a lot of silverfish because of the pike that are in the lake. Depending on the season there can be weed and crayfish in the lake. Because of that we advice you to bring a boat so you can drill the fish from the boat if necessary. It is possible to rent a rowning boat.
- It may be that Dominique is not present at the moment of arrival. Just drive to your swim and start fishing. No problem. The owner is not present at the complex all day long. He assumes that his guests know the rules and don’t break them.
Do not assume that Dominique will provide you with the latest tips. He is primarily the host and loves to receive guests on his lakes, but he is not a gifted carp angler! Fortunately, on our website you can get enough info for a successful week, or ask us directly. We have fished the lake several times.

Rules
- Arrival on Saturday from 14:00, departure no later than 10:00 the following Saturday .
Please don’t arrive before 14:00! The group before you have exclusive use of the entire complex till Saturday 10:00. (Most of you wouldn’t like it either if next weeks group turns up early.) Give the owner the time to get ready for your arrival. -
Help us prevent problems! [Nederlandse vertaling hieronder]For Lac Tournizet from this season onwards, items such as landing nets, weighing bags, unhooking mats, cradles, waders and wading boots must first be dipped in the container with a disinfectant before going to your swim.
- Up to three rods per person.
- (Well prepared) particles are allowed.
- The use of tigernuts, and and all other nuts are prohibited.
- Only use the best quality boilies available to you. We still prefer freezer baits.
- No plastic baits. There are great pop-ups shaped as corn on the market
- Keep bags are prohibited.
- The hook wound should be treated with Klinic or a simular product.
- Only barbless hooks allowed, no circle- or long shank hooks
- No fixed leads. Only safety-rigs utilising a proper lead discharge system should be used
- Use of leadcore and leaders (of any kind) is prohibited.
- Landing net of at least 42 “is required. You must dip it on arrival.
- Bring your own unhooking mat and weigh sling. Size and quality fitting the size of our carp.
- Bait boats are allowed.
- Rods may not be left unattended.
- Main line must be at least 15 lbs.
- Open fires and barbecues are prohibited.
- Waste (separated) into the appropriate bins (including cigarette butts). Please read the intructions on site and act accordingly. The owner can get fined up to € 4000,- for not separating the waste according the law!)

Heerlijk natuurlijke omgeving met goede voorzoeningen
We zijn op vrijdag al naar huis gegaan. Heerlijk gevist. 15 runs en 14 vissen. 24.2, 23.2 en 20.6 als toppers. Duidelijk merkbaar dat er verschillende lichtingen vis in zwemmen. De oude lichting bestaat uit veel lichte gekleurde onbeschubte zwaardere spiegels met geweldige grote staarten. Ook een paar geweldige oude grote schubs. De nieuwere lichting spiegels zijn nog wat lichter in gewicht en weer wat goudkleuriger met meer beschubbing. Prachtig water. Bootje erbij was fijn en met wiergroei handig. Geen last gehad van kreeftjes. Verademing tov Nederland. Heerlijke cabine die fijn schoon was. Koelkast in de cabin is ook fijn. Gezamenlijk gebouw met toiletten en douches is top!!! Dit zal medevissers ook uitbodigen dit schoon te houden. Veel ratten en coypus. Blijft natuurlijk natuur waar wij en zij evenveel recht op hebben. We vonden het een beetje ongemakkelijk aanvoelen dat het hem om 1800 uur op slot gaat zonder dat wij een sleutel hadden.

Kortom geslaagde sessie!
Heerlijk water met top voorziningen.
Diverse keren hier gevist maar wisselend gevangen. Maar dat hoort erbij. De voorzieningen zijn top en worden nog beter. Echter de laatste keer eind april 2023 was er vrij veel vissterfte. Ik hoop dat daar iets aan wordt gedaan. Ook vind ik de stekken te klein voor 3 personen, zeker de zuid stek. Dat maakt de prijs stevig.
29-10-2022 t/m 5-11-2022
Bijzondere 5 dagen gevist met vissen van 47, 47, 46, 46, 44, 42, 3x 39, 34, 32, 30, 30 en 3 vissen onder de dertig pond. Een koi van 26 pond en twee spiegels van 26 pond. Wij moesten nood gedwongen naar huis wegens ernstige rugklachten van mijn vismaat. Maar ben 8 april weer terug.

Laatste week van september gevist op tournizet, super week gehad, hadden met twee vissers 74 vissen,zwaarste vis 25 kg, ook zaten er twee kois bij, zal moeilijk worden om dit nog te evenaren. Prachtig water, mooie en verzorgde stekken, en een zeer vriendelijke eigenaar. Komen we zeker nog terug in de toekomst.
Tournizet zuid
Weekje gevist op Tournizet zuid.
Van 29-09 t/m 08-10-2022.
Was niet erg wild, maar toch nog 12 vissen gevangen waarvan 4 dertigers en 2 veertigers.
Was nog lekker weer, zo rond de 18 graden.
Vind het wel aan de prijs, maar heb je ook een lekker huisje bij met stroom en koelkast.
Stek zou voor 3 man zijn, maar dat vind ik echt te krap voor deze stek.
Verder heerlijk gezeten, maar volgende keer toch maar naar Noord waar de vangsten over het algemeen beter zijn.
Eigenaar is super aardig en komt elke dag vers brood brengen als je dat wilt.
Kortom……altijd lekker om op Tournizet terug te komen en dit weer te boeken bij de jongens van Carpspots
